Ex Snooker Pro

Played as an amateur winning Scottish U16s 1987, Scottish doubles with Graeme Horne 1988 . Won first ranking tournament Scottish Steadfast 1990 just before turning professional. Was on the main tour 15 years with no great success. Only ever got to last 48 of ranking tournament (3 times). With a best break of 140 in the world championships and a biggest pay check of £9000. Other than that year I never really made a living.
Since returning to the amateur game I was delighted to win the Scottish championships in 2011 only to lose in the final to James McBain in 2012.
I have started off this season 2013 well and will continue to play as long as I stay in love with the game. I am 40 now and can play in the Masters tour now.
Davie McLelland is my toughest opponent because in all the times I have played him I never beat him . He's my bogey player.

Ex Snooker Pro

I started playing at my dad's social club about 14-15. The club then opened up in Alloa, called the Venture, which had one table. I played there until another new club opened in Alloa with 10 tables.
Started playing in Scottish events then and climbed up ranking list pretty quickly, was selected to play for Scotland as an amateur shortly after that and moved to Spencers in Stirling to play with Stephen Henry most days.
I turned pro after a good amateur career and really enjoyed everything to do with professional snooker rising to a career high 18th in the world at one time.
I was a member of the Scottish team that won the World Cup and lost in the final of the Shanghai Open.
Highlight was winning the Kings Cup in Thailand in 1994 and beating local favourite James Watanna 6-1 in the semi and Noppadom Noppachorn 8-4 in the final.
Personal circumstances then determined I retire from snooker, biggest regret because now I know it was too early.
Life goes on, now playing pool with my county Clackmannanshire and also for my country at Bridlington which is a great honour.

Ex Pro Footballer

Started playing junior football at 22 with dunbar, went to St Johnstone at 22 and a half. Played when I was a kid & had the chance to sign with Hibs at 16 but my family and myself wanted me to get a trade. Scored the winner at parkhead against Celtic and also had fantastic times at lots of big clubs like St Johnstone, Raith Rovers, Morton, Motherwell & Hearts. Met lots of amazing people but best thing I've ever done would be wrote a book about my life to hopefully help other people. I'm friends with lots of people who play in this league through going away on pool trips with fine people like Billy Henderson, Ross Mciness & Billy Snaddon, all true gentleman especially as they've all achieved so much in their sport.

Favourite Team - Man Utd
Favourite Ground - Parkhead
Favourite Player - Wayne Rooney
Best Team mates - Roberto Martinez & Andy Goram
Best Opponent - Gazza
Memorable - Most memorable moment of my career was scoring the winner at Parkhead in a 1-0 win.

1994 - St Johnstone player of the year.
1995 - Motherwell player of the year
1999 - QF Scottish Cup
2000 - QF Scottish Cup

League - Best finish was 3rd with Motherwell missing out on Europe by goal difference.
