CountyThe 3rd ever Raeburn Trophy took place in the QClub in Glasgow on Easter Sunday 1st April 2018. West Of Scotland took on Leicestershire for the title this time around. This was West Of Scotlands 3rd attempt at winning this elusive title after previously losing twice to Liverpool. Also being the team who have competed in this final more than any other proves what a long way this league have come since it started in 2011. The match was to consist of 8 sessions of 12 frames. Let the battle commence.

Session 1 - saw the 2 sides battling hard to end with score sitting 6 each. Our best start yet.

Session 2 - saw us lose this session 7v5 leaving the score 13v11 to Leicestershire.

Session 3 - and we lost out 7v5 yet again. Very fine margins. 20v16 down.

Session 4 - This session was our worst of the day losing out 8v4 leaving us trailing 28v20. Alistair Bayne hits the highest break of the day with a 105 break. Absolute Class!!!

Session 5 - Our best session just when it was needed saw us win 8v4 leaving us trailing by 4 frames 32v28.

Session 6 - We lose out 7v5 this session with Ian Craig hitting an 88 break. Match score leaves us trailing by 6 frames 39v33.

Session 7 - Another session won for us 7v5 and still fighting. They lead us 44v40 going into the final session with everything to play for.

Session 8 - We lose this session 7v5 and the final score of the match is Leicestershire 51v44 West Of Scotland.

The league has come a long long way and to be able to go toe to toe with the English Champions only to narrowly lose out was hard to take but a massive improvement on our previous 2 batterings in finals against Liverpool. We are getting there and i have no doubt that we will eventually prevail.
